  Paulette is the greatest for helping us when our shuttle service was canceled and called around to see if we could get a ride. After she came up with a suggestion, we took it and she offered to give us a ride when we got back to the restaurant (when done backpacking), or find us one if she couldn't give us one. Also that they let us play cards in there for an hour or so while waiting for the rain to stop was great.
  
  Great food and great owners.. .go here if you are in the area and say hi to Paulette for us!

  We went here for dinner while out camping in Shawnee, we wanted to go somewhere to drink and this place was close. The food was pretty good, I'd give it a 4 star if just rating the food, but the service was despicable. The waitress was nice, she seated us, took our drink orders immediately then quickly came back and got our food orders. The food came out quickly. I had finished my drink with the appetizer and asked for another drink when our food came out. She then sat 2 additional groups, took their drink orders, brought out THEIR drinks, then took each of their food orders before bringing me my drink with our check. This all occurred for 25 or more minutes after I had asked for the refill. It was pointless to have gone there for drinks as serving them as they were ordered was not the priority. And the worst part was I was never brought a water, so I ate the whole dinner portion with no drink. The service in this situation is the result of this rating.
  As I said, I would've rated the food a 4 star, and if the service would've been excellent I would've given 5 stars. But the experience was not a good one, unfortunately...

  We stopped here while we were backpacking the Shawnee. Our shuttle cancelled on us, but Paulette (owner) said she would find someone to take care of us. Great woman! The food here was pretty tasty (patty melt was awesome!!!) and reasonably priced. I especially recommend the nacho appetizer...yum! We were going to go out hiking, but then a huge thunderstorm came by. They let us just hang out in the lounge playing cards will the storm passed by. Stop by and tell Paulette the 4 stranded hikers said hi! :)

  This is the worse place to go!!! If the owner doesn't like you she will give 2 of her 7 day a week drunks free beer to give that person a hard time. She did this to me on 2/11/17. If u want a great place to go try Sweetwater in Golconda its a great place
